This guide covers everything you need to know about SuperLibre, the Superconductor library for LibrePCB — from installation to the reference guide that explains each of the library's schematic elements.

Superconducting elements are required to draw superconductor-circuit schematics in LibrePCB. Most common elements, such as Josephson junctions, are provided by SuperLibre. Besides Josephson junctions, the library contains various signal sources for currents, voltages and phases, dependent (controlled) sources, as well as measurement probes, transmission lines, subcircuits and SPICE control commands for time-domain circuit simulations. All elements are designed to be compatible with the syntax of the JSIM and JoSIM simulators.

As of v0.3, the library also includes four dependent signal sources and a Port component for use with InductEx — see the Reference guide for the full, up-to-date component list.

Installation

Automatic

The library is most easily installed with the FrugalEDA installer available at https://gitlab.com/frugaleda: simply make sure the “Superconductor library” checkbox is ticked during installation, and the package is placed in the right location automatically.

Manual

The library can also be installed manually — for example if the automatic installation fails. To do so, move the Superconductors.lplib folder from the SuperLibre repository into your LibrePCB workspace, under data/libraries/local. Unless you chose another location when first launching LibrePCB, the workspace is the ~/LibrePCB-Workspace folder in your home directory.
