FrugalEDA is the result of long-standing developments on superconducting electronics at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc in France, supported by CNES, DGA and Campus France.

An initial support by ODNI-IARPA as part of the ColdFlux/SuperTools project has triggered the transfer of technological knowledge in open-source software tools necessary to develop superconducting hardware.

FrugalEDA is developed by the French SEFIRA Society, supported and funded through the NGI0 Core Fund, a fund established by NLnet with financial support from the European Commission's Next Generation Internet programme, under the aegis of DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology under grant agreement No 101092990.
